Budapest Pride is back, but the fight for equality is far from over. Forbidden Colours helped mobilise pressure across Europe to defend Pride, and together with our partners we brought Hungary’s anti-LGBTIQ+ “propaganda law” before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

That case is already making a difference. Earlier this year, criminal investigations against the Mayor of Budapest and the organiser of Pécs Pride were dropped after prosecutors relied on the legal principles at the heart of the CJEU case.
