Art for Equality: Support LGBTIQ+ Rights Through Our Annual Charity Auction

Charity Auction Opens On April 24th

This year, our annual charity auction returns in collaboration with Art22 Gallery – de Ville & Brouwers and the renowned online auction platform Catawiki, offering a unique opportunity to acquire exceptional contemporary art while supporting the rights of LGBTIQ+ people and democracy across Europe.

A Collection Rooted in Solidarity

This special auction brings together 26 contemporary artworks, generously donated by artists, galleries and collectors committed to equality and human dignity. Each work reflects both artistic excellence and a shared belief in fundamental rights.

All works will be awarded to the highest bidder, following their order of presentation. To participate, registration on Catawiki is required in advance.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to Forbidden Colours. No fees are taken, ensuring that every euro raised directly supports our impactful work across Europe.

Turning Art Into Impact

The funds raised power some of the most ambitious LGBTIQ+ advocacy efforts at the European level. Forbidden Colours is behind the largest legal action in EU history, challenging Hungary’s anti-LGBTIQ+ “propaganda” law before the Court of Justice of the European Union. This landmark case represents a critical effort to uphold EU law, defend fundamental rights and push back against democratic backsliding.

Beyond litigation, Forbidden Colours leads and supports initiatives countering anti-democratic and anti-LGBTIQ+ movements across Europe, including in Hungary, Poland, Italy, Georgia and Belgium. Its work spans advocacy at EU level, coalition-building and targeted campaigns that deliver tangible political impact.

Driving Change Across Europe

Through strategic advocacy and legal action, Forbidden Colours has positioned itself as the key actor in defending equality and democracy within the European Union. At a time when these values are increasingly under pressure, sustained support is essential to continue this work and achieve lasting change.
