The Hate Review reveals how the anti-gender movement has taken root and evolved in Europe over the last 25 years. Based on the analysis of its actors and its actions in 47 countries, it traces how far the anti-gender movement has spread through society and how deeply it has reached into laws and institutions.

No country is untouched. By 2025, all 47 countries under study show anti-gender contamination — it is a continent-wide phenomenon.

The threat is everywhere, not only where it’s loudest. Western and Northern Europe — Italy, Spain, the UK, France, Germany — are among the most affected.
- Contamination comes before impact. The anti-gender movement spreads through society first; it reshapes laws later, and once established it rarely recedes.
- Progressive laws are no protection. Resilience lies in low contamination, not in a strong legal framework which can be attacked and reversed.

From the streets to the institutions. In the last 10 years, the anti-gender movement has turned from reactive to proactive, carried by a new wave of far-right parties into parliaments and governments.
